Lauren Langan is the Legal Training Manager at the Center for Public Health Law Research (CPHLR). Lauren supports the management and delivery of CPHLR’s training, technical assistance, and education portfolio while providing research, methods expertise, and client support to advance high-quality training and capacity building. She also manages the CPHLR internship program. 
Since joining the Center, Lauren has conducted legal research on a variety of policy areas related to public health. Lauren has contributed to or managed the development of legal datasets on syringe access, paid leave, and income supports. Lauren further contributes to project conceptualization through project proposals and legal scan reports. Lauren has also served as an adjunct professor for public health law-related courses.
Prior to joining CPHLR, Ms. Langan worked in various legal roles related to state child welfare systems, including as a guardian ad litem, county attorney, and civil legal services attorney for youth who had exited the child welfare or juvenile justice systems. Ms. Langan also served as a nonprofit deputy executive director overseeing programs advocating for children and youth in Colorado through both direct representation and systems change initiatives. Ms. Langan previously worked as an Attorney-Advisor for the U.S. Army and an Associate Attorney in commercial litigation and white collar investigations. Ms. Langan graduated from Elon University with a bachelor’s degree in History, and earned her JD degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Ms. Langan is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Missouri, and Colorado.
